Grandma's Birthday Card

This card I made for my Grandmother's birthday tomorrow. She's a girly Grandma and loves frill and pink. I like this card for her. =)

The base is Cameo Coral with Designer Series Paper (cut to scallop) and a small strip of Blush Blossom embossed with Clear powder using a stamp from the Level 1 Hostess Set "Sweet Dreams" (I used this set for everything). The white flowers are WW craft ink. The pink and white ribbons are not from SU!

The inside is another strip of embossed Blush Blossom and a square of Pretty in Pink with an embossed frame in clear. The text is from "Sweet Dreams" and "Birthday Wimsy" (SAB 2008). The border on the bottom is WW craft ink. I added the craft ink to both the front and the inside after I thought it was done. It needed something more.

Thanks for letting me share!
The second card I made today was for my Dad's birthday next week. I don't really have many stamps that I would consider masculine, but I was pretty pleased with how this card came out none the less. The base is again, Old Olive and I used "Baroque Motifs" stamp set. The swirly on the outside is Close to Cocoa craft ink, the ribbon is 5/8" Choc. Chip and the white text is Whisper White Craft Pad done with one line of a stamp from the "Lots of Thought" (SAB 2008). The central focal point is stamped in Close to Cocoa Craft Ink, embossed in clear and mounted on Whisper White card stock. I used the Ticket Corner Punch from SU! and accented the center with a brad from the VINTAGE set.

The inside I simply used WW craft ink and the swirly stamp again on the top and finished with a stamp from the "Lots of Thought" (SAB 2008) on Choc. Chip card stock using the Ticket Corner punch again. Look masculine enough?

So here are my first cards to post on this blog.

The first one is one I made for my Aunt who is about to open a Meadows Frozen Custard Stand and I wanted to congratulate her (when it opens) and also thank her for the Friends and Family Day that they will have. I started with an Old olive Base and used my "Tart and Tangy" SU! Stamp set (from the Spring Occasions Mini Catalog) using my markers to color it then cut the image out. I used mini glue dots to apply it to the card so it has a little dimension. I also used Designer Series Paper from the Mini as a background with Whisper White card stock. Oh, and real red 1/4 " grosgrain ribbon.

The inside I used the "so sweet" flower from the Sale-a-bration catalog set "So Many Scallops" and the scallop circle and 1 inch punches. I again used markers to get the colors I wanted. The CONTRATULATIONS is from SU! set "Fun and Fast Notes."

Mt. Start Up...for Stampin' Up'

If you are looking at this title you are probably thinking that I spelled "my" wrong by using a T instead of a Y. Well yes, that was the original mistake...however once I saw it, I thought "indeed...it IS Mt. Start Up for me. Not that the mountain has been hard, but blogging could get interesting. I don't really have a lot of time for making cards...it's more or less my "stress reliever"...my "creative outlet!" So there is usually a mood associated with each and every card I make...and you might see that as I begin to post my favorites. I am NOT by far the most creative card maker I know...that would be my up-line Sponsor...Angela. I see HER cards and get inspired to stamp more. Her blog for those who don't already know is www.beeninking.blogspot.com You can even see that my "inspiration" for my blog title is a spin off of hers. LOL Well, very briefly (because my son wants to nurse and needs a nap) my intro is this:

My name is Abby and I like to stamp. I make cards for my friends and I grew up at a summer camp. I was homeschooled 12 grades, got married at 18. We've had ten years together and more we've not yet seen.. I love my God, my Husband, Twin Girls and a Boy, but if this child doesn't stop SCA-REEEEEEEEEEMING at me, I'm going to give him more then a TOY! I'm a busy Mom from sun-up to sun-down, and even some more when kids don't stay down. I do what I can be sane and well balanced, and stamping and writing are things that have challenged. I hope that this blog isn't "too much" like a mother's rantings, but more like a model Stampin' Up' Demonstrator's Stampings.
